Overview:  Aboyne Canoe Club is a SCIO registered chairty. We have a diverse membership from veterans in their 60s to newborn infants as well as everything in between. In winter we run regular Thursday evening sessions in the Aboyne Community Pool with opportunities to improve technique in warm water or try your hand at kayak polo. Throughout the summer months we practise under the placid waters of Aboyne Bridge which provides a great opportunity to try out skills on moving water.

Situated directly by the River Dee our Canoe Cathedral provides state of the art storage facilties for a variety of water borne craft including Open Canoe, Stand Up Paddleboard, Kayak Polo and Whitewater Kayaks.

Our club programme outlines regular river trips, sessions and social events.  We have visited everything from the sedate river Tay to more adventurous venues like the Etive (3/4) or Moriston (4/5). We currently field a Scottish Division 2  kayak polo team and attend various competitions throughout the year. We also run social events like our annual Christmas ceilidh, 'Mince Pie Trip','Frostbite Trip', litter pick and Easter Egg hunt.
