Kayak Polo
Kayak Polo is an excellent opportunity for the intermediate paddler to improve their kayaking skills in an exciting and quickly changing environment. Here is a video of one of our sessions.
Come and try it for yourself!
Location:
Between September to April we use Aboyne Community Centre swimming pool for kayak polo between 7.20-8.30pm. Sessions typically involve around 20 minutes of focused skills development and drills before 4/5 a side games for the remainder of the session.

Harry Burnett also runs kayak polo skills sessions on nearby flatwater Knockburn Loch (see club programme).
Divisions:
We currently field a Scottish division 2 Kayak Polo team 'The River Deevas' which won division 3 in 2017/18 and finished mid-table at 5th place in division 2 for the 2018/19 season. The division games are held at Dundee Olympia Swimming pool and culminate in the 'Stramash' at Pinkston, Glasgow.
Tournaments:
We have been known to attend 'P in the Loch' the annual Stirling University hosted competition in April. We regularly attend the 'Highland Quaich' hosted by Highland Canoe club on the Caledonian Canal in Inverness in late August each year. We compete in North East Polo tournaments held in Banff in November and February. The Banff tournaments are hosted by Deveron Canoe Club and present a friendly and fun environment for beginners to experience their first competition.
