Sessions, Events and Trips

Social Events:

Aboyne Canoe Club is all about fun and as such we run a series of social events. These events include an Easter Egg Hunt, litter pick, Mince Pie/ Christmas trip and ceilidh.

Outdoor Sessions (April-August):

Aboyne Canoe Club offers regular outdoor sessions for a variety of craft in the warmer summer months. Sessions typically take place between 18.30 until 19.30/20.00 under Aboyne Bridge as well as on the flatwater venues of Aboyne Loch and Knockburn Loch.

Indoor Pool Sessions (September-May):

Indoor pool sessions take place at Aboyne Community Pool between 6.30-8.30 p.m. Aboyne Community Pool sessions are usually divided into two blocks; beginner and intermediate kayaks. Please visit the pool sessions tab for details.

River Trips (year long):

We host regular trips on the nearby River Dee as well as occasional excursions to more technical and challenging rivers such as the Findhorn or Moriston. Details of trip leader, river grade and required ability and kit will be indicated by the programme or contact with the trip leader.

Booking Onto A Trip:

  • In order to book onto a trip you will need to contact the organiser using their contact details from the downloadable programme above. Phone calls are preferred but emails can be passed on to the appropriate organiser.
  • To ensure a booking please try to contact the organiser 3 days in advance to check if there is space.
  • Please use the club Facebook events as a guide/reminder of when they are on but not as a way of booking onto them- you will still need to contact the organiser.
